There are 2 ways you can monitor your traffic shaping policies in order to validate they are working as expected as well as to assist with fine-tuning them.
1. View the traffic hitting each shaping policy in real-time using the Applications -> Live report.
This is especially useful to ensure that applications are matching the expected policies.
2. View the utilization of each policy using the Applications -> Shaping report.
This historical view is best used to validate the bandwidth usage of each policy and show how bandwidth is distributed between policies.
You must apply a probe filter to this report before data is displayed. The report shows data for one probe at a time.
NOTE: In order to view historical shaping reports, each probe must be running v30.0 (or newer) and "Shaping Rate Monitoring" must be enabled in each probe's settings. Monitoring of shaping policies is disabled by default, enabling this feature will reduce the maximum total bandwidth a probe can shape by about 10%.
